GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Employees at Honeywell Aerospace were locked out of work Monday morning as the company and workers’ union continue to try to reach a collective bargaining agreement.
The workers’ contracts expired last Tuesday, so the Green Island-based company decided not to let them in to work. It’s a battle that’s been brewing since April 12 when the two sides realized they weren’t close to a deal.
NEWS10 had a chance to talk to some of those employees who explained their side of the story.
The company says they’re still operating with temporary workers while employees with the UAW local 1508 union are locked out.
