Tree service worker dies after falling into grinder on first day of work

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Guilderland Police say a tree service worker has been identified after falling into a tree grinding machine Wednesday afternoon. He died at the scene.

Contractors from the Countryside Tree Service were removing large trees in front of a Placid Drive home prior to the incident. Rescue workers were called to the scene at around 1:15 p.m.

Police say 23-year-old Justus Booze of Schenectady somehow became entangled during the removal. He was pronounced dead at the scene by rescue personnel. Police say it was his first day on the job.

Here is a GoFundMe page in loving memory of Justus.

The incident is still under investigation.
