Siena College investigating sexual assault on campus

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (ABC10) – Siena College confirms that a sexual assault happened on campus sometime over the weekend.

The college is investigating the incident.

Officials say the victim does not want to press charges.

The college released this statement Monday:

Siena College received a report Sunday of a sexual assault of a student on campus. The report indicated the complainant knew the individual accused of the assault, and that the incident occurred in on-campus housing. The College notified the Colonie Police Department of this report.

Siena College takes reports of sexual assault very seriously and College officials are conducting an investigation according to the College’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Siena cannot comment on the details of an investigation.
