NEW YORK (NEWS10) – Former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver will learn how long he is going to spend in prison on Tuesday.

Silver faces anywhere from 10 to 14 years in prison. He was found guilty of taking $4 million in illegal payments to make decisions in office.

Seeking mercy, last week Silver wrote an apology letter saying he let his state and his constituents down.

Sentencing is set for 2 p.m. in a Manhattan Federal Court Room.
