ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Hundreds of people got together at UAlbany for the 23rd annual JDRF walk to raise money for Diabetes research.
Organizers were trying to raise more than $300,000 for the cause. Local parents said a cure can’t come soon enough.
“Diabetes is a lifelong thing. It keeps you out of soccer games, it keeps you from going to the movies, it makes school hard at times, and these are the people that are getting us to a cure. And every day that you live with type one Diabetes, is one day too many,” said father Michael Nichter.
The event is one of 200 community walks being held nationwide.
