ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Hey baseball fans! Wednesday is the day to honor one of the best players the game has ever seen.
April 27 has been celebrated as the unofficial Babe Ruth Day since 1947. It honors the legendary ball player who set new records for home runs and slugging percentage while playing for the New York Yankees. He also became the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season.
Ruth retired from baseball in 1935 and he passed away 13-years later after losing his battle with cancer.
