GCSD: Ravena man arrested after car chase through Coxsackie

COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man after a police chase on Route 9W that ended with a crash.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office says Maxmillian Sloley, 40, from Ravena was stopped by a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy for speeding on State Route 9W around midday on Saturday. Sloley then allegedly fled the scene and led police on a chase through Coxsackie. Police say Sloley drove down Mansion Street, State Route 9W, and Van Dyke Street, while trailed by several police cars. Sloley drove behind several houses before he crashed into an earth embankment and was taken into custody.

Police say they searched the area and found a handgun stolen from Ulster County.

Sloley faces several charges, including fleeing from an officer and felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Sloley was arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Court and remanded to Greene County Jail without bail.
