CALIFORNIA (NEWS10) – The wrestling world is mourning the loss of one of their own. WWE star Chyna has died at the age of 46.
Best known as ‘Chyna’ and the “Ninth Wonder of the World” to her fans, Joan Marie Laurer was found dead in her California home late Wednesday night.
The L.A. County coroner’s office is investigating, but says there is no sign of foul play at this point.
Chyna was born in Rochester and made her name in wrestling in the 90’s as a member of the squad that dubbed themselves D Generation X. The ninth wonder of the world often took on men in matches and was the WWE women’s champ.
She retired from wrestling in 2011. In recent years she appeared on several reality TV shows including Celebrity Rehab.
