Schenectady PBA gives $5,000 check to charity Maddie’s Mark

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local charity has gotten some help from the Schenectady Police Benevolent Association.

The group hosted a comedy night fundraiser for Maddie’s Mark, a charity in honor of Madeline Musto, who died at 5-years old due to an inoperable brain tumor.

On Thursday, Schenectady police handed over a $5,000 check to the charity. Madeline’s mother, the charity’s president, said the group is blessed that the PBA understands what they do for children.

“As we do all this work, you get to meet people and you explain it to them, and I don’t think they fully get what we’re doing and some people they get this family and they just feel it,” Erin Musto said.

Maddie’s Mark provides “Best Days Ever” for children suffering with major illnesses and also has a scholarship program.
