Capital Region comes together for National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

ALBANY / EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Local officials will gather at Academy Park in Albany Thursday to honor the memory of Albany County crime victims.

This week is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and every April since 1981, communities across the nation have come together to honor those victims and recognize those who advocate on their behalf. The ceremony starts at Noon on the corner of Eagle and Elk Streets.

Also going on tonight in honor of crime victims is a “Take Back the Night” walk at Hampton Manor Lake in East Greenbush to remember those who have lost their lives as victims of domestic violence.

The mile long walk will start at 7 p.m. after a brief ceremony at Onderdonk Park.
