Averill Park woman disbarred after pleading guilty to tax fraud

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A former local attorney who pleaded guilty to tax fraud has been disbarred.

The Albany County District Attorney’s Office said Marcia Doyle Stallmer defrauded multiple people living in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. They said she often asked for short-term loans for real estate deals that didn’t exist.

In March, she was facing a 13-count indictment that she resolved by pleading guilty to one count of Criminal Tax Fraud and one count Scheme to Defraud.

Doyle Stallmer faces up to three years in prison when sentenced in May.
