Police solve early morning stabbing in Albany from last week

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Two men have been charged in connection with a stabbing that happened last week on Lexington Avenue.

Police say 35-year-old Jarrell Howard of Watervliet, and 38-year-old Alfredo Wright of Delmar were both arrested following an investigation by members of the Albany Police Department.

On Friday, April 8 at approximately 7:00 a.m., Howard and Wright were involved in a physical altercation near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Elk Street with a male friend. During the altercation, Wright stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a knife.

The victim, 32, was treated that the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Wright was charged with Assault 2nd and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd.

Howard was charged with Assault 2nd.

Both men were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and released on bail. The incident remains under investigation and more charges may be forthcoming.
