ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Schalmont’s superintendent says Rotterdam Police are currently investigating a social media threat posted about the school.
Carol Pallas wrote a letter to parents alerting them to the posts made by a student and the rumors that followed.
Her letter explains that while no specific threats were uncovered, safety is a top priority and no threats of any kind will be tolerated at the school.
The investigation resulted in an arrest of a 15-year-old male. Due to his age, he has been petitioned to appear in family court on Monday to answer a charge of Making a Terroristic Threat, a class D felony.
