NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say just after 10:20 a.m. first responders were called to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident on State Route 155 between Wormer Road and Griffen Labs.
The car, driven by 55-year-old Ashley C. Taheri, of Voorheesville, was traveling northbound on State Route 155. Police say she lost control of the vehicle and it rotated counterclockwise in the roadway and into the oncoming lane of traffic.
A 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, being operated by 64-year-old Isabel Glastetter, of Glenmont, was traveling southbound on State Route 155. The vehicle struck the passenger side of Taheri’s car and pushed it into the guardrail on the western side of the roadway.
Glastetter suffered an injury to her ankle and was transported by Western Turnpike Rescue Squad to St. Peter’s Hospital.
Taheri suffered major traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
