ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – More than 200 women came together for the 4th annual Best Buddies Women Making a Difference Luncheon and Fashion Show.
This event took place over at Wolfert’s Roost Country Club in Albany. The event recognizes women who balance work, family, and community service, while making people with disabilities a priority in their lives.
This is a big cause that’s also very close to News10ABC’s Christina Arangio’s heart. She was at this event Saturday.
“We text about our day every day. Sometimes we don’t even get to eat lunch because we are so excited and start laughing,” said Best Buddies member Nicole Reimer.
The mission of the Best Buddies is to create opportunities for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
One way they do that is by pairing students with a student who has special needs. Many times they end up creating a friendship that will last a lifetime.
