Suspect in knife-point robbery arrested, accused of second robbery

SCHENECTADY, NY (NEWS10) – Schenectady Police have made an arrest in connection with two different gas station robberies.

Detectives have alleged that 47-year-old Christopher Bell of Schenectady robbed the cashier at the CITGO gas station located at 1605 Broadway on March 27.

Bell has been charged with one count of Robbery 1st, a felony, one count of Criminal Possession of Weapon 3rd, a felony, and one count of Unlawful Imprisonment 1st, a felony.

Detectives also allege on March 12 at around 11:50 p.m., Bell robbed the cashier at Sunoco gas station located at 127 Erie Blvd.

Bell was charged with one count of Robbery 1st, a felony, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a felony, and one count of Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.

Detectives claim that Bell was armed with a large knife during both robberies.

Bell was arraigned Friday morning and was remanded without bail to the care and custody of the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office.
