Colonie police ID Bubblegum Bandit, warrant issued for arrest

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Colonie Police say they’ve identified the bubblegum bandit, but they are still looking for him.

Officials say efforts to locate the suspect, who’s been recognized as Adel Alim have been unsuccessful and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. The investigation also uncovered two additional larcenies, bringing the total to 5 in the Town of Colonie.

Police say Alim is a Middle Eastern male, age 21, 6’00”, 180 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

The two additional larcenies are:

Market Bistro 873 Loudon Road on 02-20-16 – $430.00 of Enfamil Baby Formula

Sam’s Club 579 Troy- Schenectady Road on 02-25-16 – $205.00 of batteries

The suspect has ties to Colonie, Albany and New York City. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact the Colonie Police Department at 783-2744.  .
