ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Albany mayor and fire chief were present at Albany City Hall on Friday for the promotion of six Albany firefighters.
Four lieutenants, one captain, and one battalion chief received promotions. Chief Warren Abriel offered his congratulations to the newly promoted officers and praised them as some of the most well-equipped and dedicated individuals in the country.
Mayor Kathy Sheehan also congratulated the officers and offered them well wishes for the future.
“They are rewarding themselves by investing and providing leadership for the members of this department,” she said. “I hope that they will be deeply satisfied by the work that they do, the challenges that they face, and the lives that they impact.”
Sheehan also praised the officers’ bravery, selflessness and dedication to public service.
