TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — On the stage at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall performers are getting ready for a concert that celebrating 400 years of immigration into the Capital Region.
You’ll see some dancers from Saratoga Springs, nearly 100 youth singers and Albany Pro Musica.
Artistic Director of Albany Pro Musica Jose Daniel Flores Caraballo took us through a sample of the show, starting here Argentina.
“There will be music with a wonderful piece by Ramirez then we go to the African American tradition with wonderful sound. From there, we go to Germany with music for the dancers and the choirs,” said Flores-Caraballo.
The concert, part of “A City of Immigrants” event series, is designed as a trip through different centuries, different music from different countries, starting with Dutch tradition in the 1600’s, ending with a moment of great emotion through homeland, a movement of love for America.
