GLENS FALLS, NY (NEWS10) – A hockey game was held in Saratoga County to promote safety and there was a simple message behind it “don’t drink and drive”.
The stop DWI hockey game took place on the ice at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The teams were made up of Law Enforcement Officers from different counties and several EMS workers who help respond to drunk driving accidents.
Both teams were there to encourage fans to always have a plan to get home safely.
“You can go out and have fun at sporting events, like a hockey game. But make sure you and your loved ones and the people that you don’t know that are also going to be on the road are all going to get home safely,” said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen.
Some of the money raised from the game will help fund Saratoga’s stop DWI programs.
