Device helps patients with heart failure reduce hospital admissions

AUSTIN (KXAN) — More than 5 million Americans have heart failure. If you’re suffering from heart failure, you’ve likely made several trips to the doctor’s office or even the hospital.

Now, there’s a new FDA approved device that cuts down on hospital admissions.

It’s called CardioMEMS and it lets patients send data to their healthcare providers without leaving home.

KXAN’s Alicia Inns sat down with Dr. Robert Scott with Baylor Scott and White to discuss how the new device works.
