ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say a 25-year-old Albany man has been charged with possession of a handgun and reckless endangerment stemming from a shots fired incident that happened on Lark Street on March 10.
Authorities say Lamar Herring was arrested following investigation.
They say on Tuesday, March 22 detectives executed a search warrant on South Pearl Street in reference to an ongoing investigation into an incident of shots fired in the area of Lark Street and Sheridan Avenue. No injuries were reported during the shooting.
During the search warrant, Herring and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Misty Anderson of Albany were both located inside the residence and found to be in possession of a loaded .32 caliber handgun and a quantity of crack cocaine.
Both were taken into custody and each charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fifth.
In addition, Herring was subsequently identified as the suspect in the March 10 shots fired incident at Lark Street and Sheridan Avenue and was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second and one count of Reckless Endangerment in the first degree.
Both Herring and Anderson were arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
