Gerber recalling two baby food products

FREMONT, Mich. (NEWS10) – Gerber is voluntarily recalling some baby food because a packaging defect may cause spoilage.

The recall involves two kinds of the Gerber Organic 2nd Foods pouches. One is pears, carrots and peas. The other is carrots, apples and mangoes.

There have been three consumer reports of children getting sick, but the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said they aren’t sure if it’s related.

The following items are being recalled:

The products were distributed at U.S. retailers nationwide and through online stores. Consumers who purchased pouches with the above UPCs, batch codes and expiration dates are encouraged to contact the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 1-800-706-0556 for a replacement coupon.
