STILLWATER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say they’ve arrested a man for a hit-and-run while driving over two times the legal limit.
Police say 57-year-old Thomas Petrie of Ballston Spa was charged with felony DWI, Aggravated DWI, Failure to comply, and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle following an incident in the Town of Malta.
Stillwater Police say they got a call from Saratoga County dispatchers reporting a hit and run accident in Malta. The car was located shortly after travelling on Route 76 in the Town of Stillwater.
The vehicle was stopped following a brief low speed pursuit.
Petrie was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests. Officials say the breathalyzer test revealed a BAC of .18 %.
The felony charge is the result of Petrie having a previous DWI conviction in 2014 in Orange County N.Y.
Petrie was processed and is scheduled to be arraigned in Stillwater Town Court. Police say he also has charges pending in the Town of Malta.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be pending.
