TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say they’ve arrested a man accused of forging stolen checks at multiple locations in the Capital Region.
Authorities say 41-year-old Damien Moore of Troy was located on a warrant. The arrest comes after a complaint was made that Moore was forging stolen checks in the area. At the time of his arrest, he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, and initially gave troopers a false name.
Police say Moore was found to have 12 active warrants, including a violation of his parole. Moore was charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the second degree and Identity Theft in the first, both felonies, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth, Petit Larceny, False Personation, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, all misdemeanors.
Officials say he was arraigned in Brunswick court and remanded to Rensselaer County jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
