Pet Connection Tips: 3/21/16

Not all pet owners realize that the same danger foods for dogs are also a risk for cats.

Some assume the cats are just too picky to eat problem foods, but in many cases cats have eaten enough “forbidden food” to get sick.

The top threats are the same for dogs: onions/garlic, grapes or raisins and definitely chocolate.

Induced vomiting or activated charcoal are options when treatment is soon after ingestion, otherwise they are limited to IV fluids and symptomatic care until their bodies pass the toxins.
