Schoharie County man arrested for Felony Cocaine Possession with Intent to Sell

AMSTERDAM, NY (NEWS10 – State Police in Fonda arrested 28-year-old David Santiago of Richmondville, NY on Felony Cocaine possession and possession with intent to sell following an investigation that ended with a traffic stop in the City of Amsterdam.

A vehicle Santiago was a passenger in was stopped near the NY State Thruway exit in Amsterdam. Santiago was found to have over five ounces of crack cocaine on him. The Cocaine was packaged for street distribution.

A small amount of marijuana was also located on Santiago.

Santiago was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd, which is a class A2 Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell 3rd degree, which is a class B Felony, and Unlawful Possession of marijuana.

Santiago was processed at Fonda State Police and arraigned in Amsterdam City Court. He was remanded to Montgomery County Jail without bail.

Santiago is set to return to court on March 29th.

The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Lionel LeBron of Gloversville, was charged with vehicle traffic violations and released.
