AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Officials have indefinitely closed a portion of Miami Avenue in the town of Amsterdam due to a partial collapse.
Miami Avenue between Route 30 and Midline Road will be closed. Montgomery County officials said there is a failure in the large culvert pipe underneath the road.
Town engineers said the closure is a precaution in case the whole pipe collapses.
The county said it’s bidding work on the job immediately.
