Folks in Petersburgh face reality with high levels of PFOA in their water

PETERSBURGH, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Test results from the town of Petersburgh are confirming what many already feared: High levels of PFOA.

Officials say 50 homes were tested within a half mile of Taconic Plastics and nearly half had levels of PFOA above the EPA standard of 100 parts per trillion. One home had 2,100 parts per trillion!

The water in Hampton Manor, Nassau and Castleton was also tested and showed very low levels of PFOA.

Results are still out for Troy and parts of Schodack.
