SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Three individuals were arrested after police said they attempted to break into a Schenectady residence.
Around 1 p.m. Thursday, Schenectady police responded to Lenox Road for a report of three males attempting to break into a residence. Police said 19-year-old Christian Fernandez attempted to gain entry by breaking a glass window.
The residence was unoccupied at the time.
Fernandez was charged with one count of Burglary in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old were also charged in connection to the crime.
The identity of the 16-year-old cannot be released as he is eligible for youthful offender status. The identity of the 15-year-old cannot be released due to his age.
Fernandez was arraigned Friday morning and taken to the Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
The 16-year-old was arraigned and sent to jail. The 15-year-old was petitioned to family court.
