NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A traffic violation stop led to the arrest of an Albany man for allegedly being in possession of a large amount of marijuana.
Police stopped Jean Vazquez Tamerez around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday on I-87 for a traffic violation. Police said the 25-year-old was in possession of more than 14 pounds of marijuana.
He was taken to the State Police barracks in Newburgh and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree.
Vazquez Tamerez was arraigned in the Town of New Windsor Court and taken to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
