WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Authorities have found the body of a woman who went missing less than a week ago.
Members of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Forest Rangers were out searching in a wooded area on Thursday. Around noon, officials found a deceased body in a large wooded area west of Route 9 in Wilton.The body has been identified as 20-year-old Christine Lee.
The investigation into Lee’s death is ongoing; however, police said there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
Lee was reported missing by her mother from her mother’s home in the early morning of March 4.
Police said the she was improperly dressed for the weather. They said she was only wearing pajama pants and no footwear. She was also without a cell phone.
Police said Lee appeared to have been under the influence of narcotics when she left her mother’s home.
An autopsy on Friday revealed Lee’s death was caused by hypothermia due to exposure.
