Police: Man from Hudson Falls drives car into the Hudson River

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – On Sunday evening, Warren County Sheriff’s responded to Palmer Drive in Queensbury, for a report of a car that drove into the Hudson River.

25-year-old Jeffrey McKenna, told police that he was driving his car southbound on Big Bay Rd, when he failed to turn onto Palmer Dr. and drove his car off the road, hitting a dock and continuing into the river and sinking.

McKenna was able to remove himself from the car before it completely sunk.

Police say McKenna was drunk and a breath test determined his BAC was .20%.

McKenna was not injured in the accident but he was arrested for Aggravated DWI and cited for failure to use a designated lane.

He was released and is scheduled to appear in Queensbury Town Court at a later date.
