Officials: Woman dies from injuries sustained in Route 67 crash

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New York State Police said a 22-year-old woman was killed when her vehicle hit another vehicle Saturday night in Schaghticoke.

The crash took place around 8:25 p.m. Saturday on Route 67.

Police said 22-year-old Marissa Swanson, of Schaghticoke, was traveling westbound when her Volkswagen spun into the eastbound lane of the highway for an unknown reason. Her vehicle struck a Kia on the passenger side.

Swanson was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The investigation has revealed she was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police.

The driver and passenger of the Kia were uninjured.

An exact cause of the crash has not been determined. No tickets or charges have been filed at this time.
