RENSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Initial water test results for areas of Rensselaer County were released on Thursday.
Water samples were taken from various locations in Petersburgh, Berlin and Schaghticoke.
Currently, none of the locations tested in Berlin or Schaghticoke show PFOA levels above the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standard of 100 parts per trillion.
One location in Petersburgh tested above the standard and another tested just below it. Two private wells within .5 miles of Taconic Plastics also tested below the PFOA standard.
Rensselaer County said testing is ongoing.
