Over $1M in counterterrorism funds coming to Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Capital Region is getting more than $1.6 million in state Homeland Security counterterrorism funds.

Governor Andrew Cuomo, Sen. Charles Schumer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, and other state officials said the funding is crucial to keeping New Yorkers safe.

It’s part of funds being given out across the state to support emergency preparedness activities, which are designed to help communities prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
