NYS broadband program accepting proposal applications

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the launch of the state’s new broadband program.

The $500 million program will bring internet access to underserved New Yorkers by the end of 2018. The program’s funding application portal is currently accepting proposal applications.

Recipients will be chosen through a reverse auction, which means bidders seeking the lowest amount will be awarded the funding.

Applications are due by April 15.
