Siena bball players earn year end MAAC awards

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The best of the best in the MAAC were announced on Monday, and the all-conference teams were released.

For the first time since 2012, the Siena College men’s basketball team placed a member on the All-MAAC first team.

Brett Bisping – a unanimous selection – is now one of five players up for the Player of the Year. The junior forward is averaging a double-double for the season and about 16 points and ten rebounds per game.

His front court partner, Javion Ogunyemi, was named to the All-MAAC second team. Nico Clareth is in the running for Rookie of the Year.

Jackie Benitez is also up for Rookie of the Year on the women’s side. Her teammate, sophomore guard Kollyns Scarbrough, earned All-MAAC second team honors.
