ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Sheriff Deputies say a Troy man has been accused of being in possession of multiple illegal weapons after he was pulled over in the Town of New Scotland.
According to authorities on Sunday, February 28 an Albany County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested 37-year-old Douglas Brundige Jr. of Troy after he was pulled over.
Police say during the vehicle stop deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from Brundige and from his car. During a search of the vehicle, deputies say they found a loaded .22 caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun, a wooden baton, metal knuckles, lead filled gloves, and a slapjack. Deputies also noticed a digital scale, large plastic bag containing a quantity of marijuana and three small plastic bags containing pills which were controlled substances.
Police say Douglas Brundige Jr. was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, 4 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th degree and a traffic violation.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility with no bail.
