QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police in Queensbury and Chestertown are investigating a fatal skiing accident that happened on Gore Mountain on February 22.
Police say a 911 call was received from ski center staff around 10:30 a.m. indicating that a fatal accident involving one skier had occurred on a trail identified as Lies, a double black diamond trail.
The victim, 65-year-old Richard Bredeck of Minerva was skiing in a group with friends and lost control while crossing the steep slope. He then exited the trail into a heavily wooded area, striking several trees and suffering multiple traumatic injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
