New York State DMV restores services after significant power outage

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A power outage at the Swan Street building temporarily made services at DMV’s across New York State limited.

The DMV released tweets early Wednesday about significant power outage at the building due to transformer problems.

As a result of the power outage, the camera system used to take customer ID photos in all DMV offices statewide was down. Customers were not be able to get an original license. Some phone services were also affected.

The DMV tweeted late Wednesday afternoon that it had largely restored operations of the camera system used to take identification photos.
