DENVER, Colo.– Thousands of Senator Bernie Sanders supporters gathered together at the Colorado Convention Center on Saturday to see him speak.

While he’s known for his large following of ‘millennials,’ there were people of every age at the event who say they’re feeling the ‘burn.’

“I am really excited about this turnout. It gave me chills when I was in line. I felt like crying because of how much support there is for Bernie,” Melissa Freeman said.

Sanders is speaking about several different topics including combating climate change and making college affordable, and many of these people say that’s why they’re here today.

“He’s been consistent all of his career,” Nathan Hildreth said.

“Bernie Sanders better represents what’s important to me which is a more equitable playing field for everybody in the country regardless of race, religion, creed,” Liz Spetnagel said.

Sanders had been trailing in the polls behind Hillary Clinton, who won the Iowa caucus, but only by less than a percent.

Since then Sanders has been closing in, coming out on top in the New Hampshire caucus and is now hoping for a repeat performance in Nevada.

The Colorado caucuses are scheduled for March 1st.
