LATHAM, NY (NEWS10) – Just like everyone else, Valerie Donahue wanted to do something to help out 15-year-old Noah Roman.
“I came out to support Noah. I wanted to show my love and support by coming out and contributing to this organization for him”, said Donahue.
Valerie Donahue spent her Saturday afternoon “bowling for Noah”.
“Wanted to give everything we could so I came out to donate, came out to bowl and I decided instead of bowling I would still donate but I would jump on and help support”, said Donahue.
Hundreds of people, who wanted to do the same thing as Donahue, overflowed the alley. Every single lane was full and some patient people even waited 90 minutes to bowl just to show their support.
“From the students coming in from Noah’s mom’s class to the neighbors, they brought tears to my eyes”, said Donahue.
Tim Stowell, who organized Saturday’s event at Spare Time Lane in Latham, was also overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from the community.
“It means the world to me. To know that these people have heard the story and care about Noah and want him to know it’s not just about the money. These people are here to show support and solidarity”, said Stowell.
In total, over $55,000 was raised at Sunday’s event. Every penny went right to Noah.
“We love him, we stand behind him, we stand behind him and we want the best for him”, said Stowell.
“Noah, I just want you to know that we love you and we care about you”, said Donahue.
If you couldn’t make it out to bowl for Noah, there are still plenty of ways you can help him out.
