Selkirk fifth grader named anti-bully leader

SELKIRK, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A fifth grader at A.W. Becker Elementary School was recognized for being an anti-bullying leader.

J.T. Lyle was this week’s winner of the Albany County District Attorney’s WORDS Anti-Bullying weekly contest. Submissions are sent in from around the county each week, and one child is picked.

From those winners, one grand prize winner is chosen each month. A teaching assistant at A.W. Becker nominated J.T.

“Specifically, I nominated him because he helped a kid learn how to play basketball and was a great role model,” Katherine Logue said.

If you know a kid you think should be nominated, you can submit an application on the Albany County DA’s website, HERE.
