IRS computer glitch halts locals from doing taxes online

(NEWS10) – A computer glitch at the IRS may prevent some people from filing their income taxes online Thursday.

According to a statement from the IRS, several computer tax filing systems were down, including e-filing and “Where’s My Refund.” The IRS says taxpayers can still prepare and file returns, and send documents to their commercial e-file provider. Those companies will hold the returns until the IRS can accept them.

The IRS says its working to fix the problem, but some systems may not be back online until later on this afternoon.
