BOCES students helping construct Jack’s Place in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A local family is turning tragedy into hope for families whose loved ones are in the hospital.

On Thursday, their efforts were rewarded with the help of some local students. The Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School is looking for volunteers to help finish building “Jack’s Place.”

Jack’s Place is a home in Schenectady that will be used by families of patients at Ellis Hospital and Sunnyvale Rehabilitation Hospital.

Currently, BOCES students are helping with electrical, heating and construction, but they still need help.

Jack’s Place started after the death of Jack Falvo in 2005. It is located on Rosa Road.

There hasn’t been any word on when it will be up and running.
