ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) – Albany Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Dana Avenue early Saturday morning.
Around 2:20 a.m., officers responded to the area of Dana Avenue and New Scotland Avenue for a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located a male who had been shot in the leg. The victim told officers that while he was walking down the street, an unknown alleged male suspect was armed with a handgun and approached him, then demanded his property.
The victim said during the incident, the alleged suspect shot him in the leg and fled the scene without taking any of his property.
The 23-year-old victim was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Med with non-life threatening injuries.
