Cohoes man dubbed ‘Bordeaux Bandit’ sent to prison in R.I.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (NEWS10) – A man from Cohoes, known as the “Bordeaux Bandit,” was sentenced in Providence, Rhode Island on Thursday.

Scott Deluca, 25, is most well-known to law enforcement for stealing rare and expensive bottles of wine from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Managers from both Newton Wine and Spirits in Colonie and Spirits and All Star Wine and Spirits in Latham said they can remember when Deluca came into their stores in Summer 2015.

The managers did not want to talk on camera, but they said he came in with a woman who police identified as Brianna Larkin.

According to police reports from 2015, Deluca stole a total of three bottles of Opus One California red from the two stores on three separate occasions. The bottle values anywhere between $200 and $300.

Deluca was sentenced in Rhode Island because he’s accused of stealing gaming equipment and jewelry from a home there in 2011.

He pleaded no contest to the Rhode Island crimes. He’ll serve 90 days in prison for Larceny with credit for time served since January.

Police said they also arrested three other people in connection to Deluca’s crimes, and they have not experienced any wine thefts since the summer of 2015.
