Man accused of Jackie Porreca’s murder rejects plea deal of 15 years to life

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One of the two men arrested in connection with the murder of Jackie Porreca appeared in court Tuesday morning.

Sean Moreland, the accused getaway driver involved in the killing of Jackie Porreca rejected the plea deal of 15 years to life.

It was November when police finally made an arrest; 32-year old, Sean Moreland being one of them and 23-year old, Michael Chmielewski who is accused of stabbing Porreca.

Just recently, Chmielewski also rejected a plea deal of 25 years to life.

Paul Derohannesian, Moreland’s defense attorney says the next step will be a decision from the judge on their motions that they file with respect to some of the issues on the case. The attorney also said there are some motions to get through the case and legal issues that must be addressed.

The case will be brought to trial and there is no word yet on when the trial date may be.
