Albany issues Code Blue Alert for Monday

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Homeless and Travelers Aid Society (HATAS) is issuing a Code Blue alert for Monday January 25th.

According to the current forecast they will NOT be in Code Blue status on Tuesday January 26th. The facility will be back in CB status on Wed the 27th through Sunday the 31st (nighttime only). During the day, the “real feel” forecast is projected to be above 32 degrees.

Homeless persons can go to the Capital City Rescue Mission at 259 South Pearl St., the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless Safe Haven at 26 South Swan Street, or the Council of Churches Overflow Shelter at 646 State Street 12203.  During the day, the homeless can also seek assistance at the Homeless and Travelers Aid Society at 138 Central Avenue 12206 or through the Department of Social Services at 162 Washington Avenue.

In keeping with the Governor’s Order, the trigger for a Code Blue is now 32 degrees or less, including wind chill.
